As everyone on this (American) soil knows, today – March 17th is what we celebrate as St. Patrick’s Day here in the U.S. I know most in the U.K. and Ireland don’t celebrate this day- in fact they consider it that “Yank” holiday and laugh about it. I guess it is similar to the way most Native Americans ( my other half) feel about Columbus Day. Not exactly something to celebrate if you were on the losing side. But most of us don’t say a word, and just let folks do as they wish without enlightening them about our own subjective viewpoint. But I digress.
What I planned to bring out was that we have some wonderful childrens books on sale this month that are based on Irish & Celtic folklore. Beautiful illustrations that celebrate the culture of the Emerald Isle and the titles that included CDs even share some of the music & stories that you might find at a Ceili!
Note: See the thumbnails on the landing page. These gorgeous titles will only be on sale until March 31, 2009 (Tales of Old Ireland, Tales of Wisdom & Wonder, Tales of Celtic Lands, The Barefoot Book of Faerytales, The Faerie’s Gift – most have the audio CD included – some beautifully narrated by Hugh Lupton or Olwyn Whelan!)
Visit here to get a taste of Irish homelands with classic stories of little old men, faeries, music, wonders and wisdom:

If the button doesn’t work, then click on Talula’s Wagon or Barefoot Books in the Blogroll in the right column.

For all those folks who think that they know me & check on me from time-to-time at Talula’s tiny little blog house here on WordPress; it is time for a “little” confession from the original Talula spirit.
My Early Childhood Educator career, enjoying my grandchildren, and my second professional life as a Barefoot Books Stallholder & online store owner; ARE NOT THE ONLY THINGS I AM TRYING TO BUILD IN MY LIFE!
I AM GOING AFTER MY DREAM OF BEING A PUBLISHED CHILDRENS LIT AUTHOR!
I WANT TO WRITE PICTURE BOOKS THAT MAKE MY GRANDCHILDREN WANT TO READ OVER AND OVER AND JUST MAYBE YOUR CHILDREN WILL WANT TO READ THEM ALSO!
TO DO THAT >> I HAVE FINALLY BITTEN THE BULLET & JOINED A GROUP FOR SUPPORT TO MAKE MY DREAM A REALITY!!
WHEW! i FINALLY SAID IT OUT LOUD AND IN PRINT ~ NO LESS! ACK! WHAT AM I THINKING??!! OH WELL – ITS OUT THERE NOW – NO TURNING BACK!
As I played on the sidelines of being a writer for many years, I have subscribed to “Write4Kids” to follow other writers’ journeys since the early 1990s. But last week I finally took the plunge; and joined “Children’s Book Insider” to actually begin the process of taking my story ideas from scraps of ideas in numerous notebooks and transforming them into a real publication!
If you might like to do the same ~ these folks really help you get there asap! These folks are NOT a self-publishing route. They give you advice, dsicussion boards, articles and many, many insider links and tidbits directly connected to real publishers who ARE currently soliciting for new manuscripts and article series.
Dive into the “Fightin’ Bookworms Clubhouse” to see what I’m talking about in the FREE TOUR!
OK; I HAVE ADMITTED IT NOW ~ SO YOU CAN DROP BY NOW AND THEN TO RAZZ ME OR ENCOURAGE! oh! AND WISH ME LUCK! THANKS FOR VISITING, TALULA!

Ok, everybody out there got their ‘GO RED’ on?
Today is “Go Red” Day! The day for the national campaign from the American Heart Association’s tribute to women’s heart health. To remind women to live heart-healthy and learn the symptoms of heart attacks or disease; the AMA asks all of us to wear red today! And as a woman who has seen 10 of my extended family members have heart attacks – I always promote this for them in any way I can get it across. Talking with friends, acquaintances, and now here on my blog. Please – Please learn the symptoms of heart attack in women (it is usually very different symptoms than the classic chest or arm pain that most folks know about). It can be in the form of back pain, neck/jaw spasms, severe headache, upper abdominal pain; or even no pain at all! To find out more about it and possibly save the life of someone you love (or yourself) – go to the AMA website to learn more.
